What You Need to Know About the XBox 360, the Kinect, and a Review of All Kinect Games

!±8± What You Need to Know About the XBox 360, the Kinect, and a Review of All Kinect Games

A NEW WAY TO GAME! IS THE XBOX 360 KINECT THE RIGHT NEXT GADGET FOR YOU?

There are a plethora of game systems and games out there. Why should you consider the xBox 360 and the new Kinect? What will the Kinect do for you? Some have claimed it will change your life, will it do that? What games are available for the Kinect and do they really work well enough to justify the cost, the time, and the trouble? Is there enough variety to suit your needs?

This article will give the positives and negatives of the xBox 360 and the new Kinect. What can be accomplished with this system and why consider getting a Kinect for yourself and your family? How well does it work?

Let's start with a little bit of history xBox 360 for you. If you will go way back in your mind and remember that the xBox 360 is a sixth generation video game by Microsoft. This group of games was known as the 128-bit era game consoles. The xBox was actually released November 2001. However, the xBox 360 is the second video game console produced by Microsoft (the first was the xBox). It now competes well with the Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles, the xBox 360 was the first of that creative age introducing HD and 1080p into the game playing mix in November 2005.

The xBox 360 was officially unveiled on television. The announcement was on MTV in 2005. Coming up to more modern time the xBox 360 was known as the xBox 360 S, but now we just call it the xBox 360. The consoles have been redesigned, as well as the hardware, and that innovation was officially announced in June 2010. And word is that Microsoft has announced, covertly, that if they ever (and with their current popularity I'm sure they will) come out with another console as a successor to the xBox 360 S it will be simply called xBox 720. The initial rumors are very intriguing.

The second edition of the xBox 360, which included 4 GB of storage, was a prelude to the current box. The xBox 360 Elite came out middle of 2010. But with the avalanche of new games being designed and released it pressured Microsoft to upgrade their hardware.

Isn't that always the case with hardware and software? It goes like this: Software becomes more complicated and needs faster processors, larger computers and capacity. And so the hardware designers and manufacturers have to race to keep up. It's the same with the gaming genre. Try playing Halo Reach on your old xBox. It's not happening.

Thus in August of 2010 Microsoft announced that they had a mega model, a 250 GB stand-alone hard drive for use with the xBox 360 S models, and that would be priced initially at 9.99.

The features of each of these models and core systems are interesting, but it is beyond the scope of this review. The remarkable features, capabilities and the capacities of the devices improved with each progressive model. Microsoft became one of the big guns in the gaming console market and will remain there with this system.

This past Christmas buying season of 2010, the xBox 360 was bundled for better consumer purchasing power, which, among others, featured the Limited Edition, as well as some of the more popular games such as the Halo Reach, Call of Duty Black Ops, and other special features including wireless remotes controllers and head-sets.

The online service is called xBox Live. This is a worldwide service that allows users to play with and against other online players or download purchased content, experience new games and it also offers movies, game trailers, game demos that can be played for a short trial period encouraging the user to then go on to purchase the full game.

There are xBox Live arcade games, images, dashboard themes as well. Through xBox Live, a person can discover new undiscovered content. There are Gold Memberships, which allows you to purchase Microsoft Points to use for downloads avatars and add-ons or additions to your current games. Those prepaid cards come in 400, 800, 1600, 4000, and 6000 point denominations for an equivalent amount of money.

I will reveal some interesting details about the negative attributes of the xBox and xBox 360. It may be a surprise to a newbie, thinking that there were not any negatives. But there are...or were.

It seems that the console can be subject to a number of technical problems. Users have reported concerns over its reliability and alarming failure rate in the older models. That led Microsoft to extend the xBox 360 S warranty to three years for hardware failure problems. Users were getting the dreaded red ring of death and a message announcing general hardware failure.

Microsoft unquestionably did not want to leave their customers hanging and helpless. It attempted to modify the consoles to improve its reliability. The unit was subsequently put together much better and inside the unit there is not as much movement in the main (mother) board during the heat expansion and now the unit has better ability to dissipate heat.

With the release of this redesigned xBox 360 the warranty on the newer models does not include the three year extended warranty for general hardware failure. The word from the experienced gaming community is that the xBox 360 is a very reliable machine and the user complaints and failures of the past have not surfaced.

The new xBox 360s are very reliable. Overall, I rate the xBox 360 5-Stars. It is now the standard in the current industry. They are the leader and the other companies are trying to keep up.

Now we enter into the realm of the new and eye-popping Kinect. This is an amazing addition to our adventures in creative and all-consuming, mind-and-body gaming. It is a controller-free input device and a big step up in the entertainment experience for the xBox 360.

It was initially announced June of 2009. Sadly, it was not released until November 2010. This amazing sensor device enables the user to control and interact with the games of the xBox 360 without a physical game controller. This is similar to the Wii, but the user is not limited to holding and pointing a controller and Nunchuk. The amazing Kinect uses body gestures, spoken commands, and objects and images. It's the EYE that works the magic! The Kinect is compatible with all 360 models. The Kinect...connects to new models with the custom "Kinector." The old consoles used a USB adapter.

Along with the new games, the Kinect is called the new xBox experience (NXE). Along with the NXE there are many new features that users can install into their gaming world. There are games from disks loaded onto the hard drive and then played with reduced load time and less disk drive noise. That is comforting, but each time the game is played the disk must remain in the system in order to run it.

There are also a cool bunch of digitized avatars that can be used for multiple activities, such as sharing photos and playing arcade games.

The xBox 360 and the Kinect were so popular during the Christmas season that it sold out in many stores as well as the major online sites. The demand exceeded the supply. Since the Christmas rush has past you have the opportunity to get discounted prices and lots of selection and availability.

I looked in the retail and online outlets and have compiled an updated list for current supplies of all available and announced games. There are a growing number of supplies, but here I will give you the most up-to-date list of games available for the Kinect.

• To begin with the fitness game called Your Shape Fitness Evolved. It contains workouts in a martial arts class lead by a celebrity trainer. Big names that work on the Biggest Loser show.

• There is Kinect Sports, These are world-class sports. Kinect Sports includes a bowling alley, soccer pitch or track-and-field arena. Kinect puts in the game as the VIP player and somehow lets you be the controller. It apparently also includes soccer, volleyball, ping-pong, and even more games they tell me.

• Get your groove on with Dance Central™. This is exclusive for the Kinect and is the first real dance game experience that will be fun, social and for everyone!

• The very cute and much advertised game is Kinectimals. This is great fun for children of all ages. You get to play with an animal on your xBox 360 screen. The TV advertisements show an irresistible tiger. I thought there would be many more animals, but I guess the furry tiger does it all. That's cool. The Bengal tiger cub will bring back an dream of being in the circus or of your trip to the zoo. The Kinect lets that furry tiger become your best friend. See now you don't need that indoor pet after all.

• Listen to this, If you really want to get the Ultimate Experience then get the Kinectimals Limited Edition Bundle with King Cheetah Plush. It is the entire package.

• Motion Sports, Play for Real, this looks like a game that you do sports motions and keep moving; great aerobic exercise. It has a wide range of sports, like it says you can zoom down slopes of a Super G slalom, score a mind-blowing penalty shot, duck-and-run your way to a game-winning touchdown or throw punches at the champ." I don't know about all that, but it look like some really exciting exercise.

• Kinect Joyride is a fun ride in a car, but I do not think it is a "stolen" car, but it is a Joyride. Kinect Joy Ride, the first controller-free racing game that combines wild kart racing with full-body controlling possible only with Kinect for Xbox 360.

• Sonic Free Riders is more action. It has speed and a finish line. This one takes your whole body to control a variety of hoverboards and bikes. This one may NOT be easy to pick up and play and be the hero. It matches family and friends in multiplayer modes. Each racer can have their own unique rules.

• And then the game that we all need to get is the Ultimate Workout, Biggest Loser style. You will work out with Bob and Jillian, the best workout coaches ever. The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout will maximize your healthy diet. It boasts 50 new, healthy recipes. You can also track your caloric intake. This "game" is for real and will even give you real-time feedback that says you'll see immediate results.

• Can you dance? You will! DanceMasters lets you dance with nothing to constrain your movement and freedom. Different modes: Dance Mode, Lesson Mode, Status Mode, Xbox Live. There is even downloadable content. Next step is Dancing with the Stars for you!.

• Zumba Fitness Kinect. Everyone loves a Zumba! This game is for up to four players. Family or online players compete to get the highest workout group score or individual in Zumba Attack! Action, Dancing, and great fun.

• EA Sports, Active 2.0. It's in the Game! Build muscle, track your heart rate. There seems to be an unlimited customizable workout option with more than 70 games.

• Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One. The wand and real magic! You get an arsenal of formidable spells to defeat Death Eaters and enemies to all good Harry Potter stand-ins. Fight Voldemort's Death Eaters, Snatchers and Dementors.

• Deca Sports Freedom. This features ten athletic games to life: Tennis, you can even twing the bowstrings then play. Ten different events: tennis, boxing, archery, paintball, beach volleyball, dodgeball, kendo, mogul skiing, snowboard cross and figure skating. They really pack it in.

• Game Party: In Motion. This is a family-friendly collection of 16 arcade type games. The list is long: Darts, Hoop Shoot, Rootbeer Tapper, Table Hockey and 12 more. Multi player action and support available online and meet up to 16 players. Design and use your avatar and Facebook cross functionality. Now that is really covering all the bases.

• Fighters Uncaged, looks like a major adventure in fighting and the cover is really great. You can upgrade your fighter. The game and the Kinect lets you use your fists, knees, legs, elbows and even head. Take THAT mangy opponent!

• The next is Adrenaline Misfits. This is for single players or two players. The race includes 7 fantasy worlds and 7 monsters that need defeated. The soon-to-be-conquered course are like Snowy Mountains, stormy deserts, glacier lands, limestone caves, and volcanoes. This one also hooks up to xBox Live.

• And then another called Child of Eden. Graphics and sound combine to stimulate the senses. It is a physical, sensory experience.

• Star Wars Kinect is on the list but is not scheduled to be released for a year.

• Brunswick Pro Bowling, It is bowling for everyone, however kids have options which let them compete with the pros.

• Michael Jackson and the Experience. Put yourself into the game and be one of the stars in your own Michael Jackson video. This one looks awesome, if it includes "Thriller"! Dancers and Michael's Dance School take your performance to the next level. For beginners and experienced performers.

The price of the game seems to range from about to others that are priced around . And for you can even get a Kinect Mount that puts the sensor at just exactly the right position.

Now as far are reviewing the Kinect and the games: The public's experience is still new and since the Kinect has only been sold for less than two months, with the accompanying games the whole system is still novel and shiny new.

But it seems to this reviewer and others in the industry, that this is a brand-new paradigm in games and indoor exercise and it will shape the industry's future. The Kinect is changing the industry.

The xBox 360 and the Kinect are now in stock currently at Amazon and many other retailers and there are also very nice bundles to get the xBox 360 plus the Kinect as well as other hardware and games. It is very nice to get a bundle. It saves money in the long run - in the short run also. The Kinect also has some very nice price discounts.

James, my gaming colleague, is still stirred by his xBox 360 and he is an expert gamer. James says his xBox 360 experience, as well as the many games that he has played notes that the new Xbox 360 250GB is faster than other systems he's tried. The graphics are better and he noticed more advanced corporeal levels.

I asked him, "James, would you ever go back to another game system?" He replied, "Possibly the PS3 as a second," as he believes it is a close competitor.

For a more complete review of the xBox 360, the Kinect and specific games, please order the free e-book that will give you more detailed information go to the blog http://www.xbox360kinectsite.info

Thank you for attending this review and becoming informed of this remarkable system. So far, it is perfection and happiness.

This is an exciting day and age where specialty games and the reality of the xBox 360 and Kinect deliver a physical gaming experience, involving every part of your body and thus forcing you to exercise, stay active and have lots of fun..

The future of this system is limitless. If you have an xBox 360 and a Kinect and a HD TV and some of these games, you will experience the excitement, bliss and the life-changing action. This is a system that is near perfect. It can change your life, you can lose weight, get involved in adventures, hone your physical and mentall skills. This is a system that makes your time spent gaming well worth it.

You can't go wrong with this system. Now, get up and get moving!

Types Of Used Goods To Sell On eBay

!±8± Types Of Used Goods To Sell On eBay

Selling used goods on eBay can generate quite a profit if you know what to sell. There are a wide range of items that sell like hotcakes and some that don't. As a seller on eBay, you can either put your items for sale by way of auction, or you can simply set a price on the item. Either way, the profits are huge if you're selling the right items. Here's a guide on what items you can consider buying or selling on eBay.

Electronics:

Huge demand: Electronics items, like mobile phones, PDAs, and mp3 players, are small, easy to manage, and are in high demand. Because technology is constantly improving, and there is always production, there is a huge demand for those sought-after gadgets. People who have a craving for owning these items are willing to pay a hefty price for them.

High resale value: These items have a high resale value as compared to other small items. If you are able to purchase them cheap, you are sure to make huge profits on eBay.

Advantage over wholesalers: Another interesting feature to note is that wholesalers do not flood this market as they do with other items. Companies have to pay for the people they employ, overhead costs, among other expenditures so as to sell these items. Buying them and then simply selling them online is a sure way of making a profit.

Safety test: When purchasing used electrical goods, make sure that the item has undergone an electrical safety test. The results of this should be recorded into a PAT (portable appliance test) log book, and a PAT sticker should be attached to the item.

Video games:

Disclaimer policy: If you are interested in selling video games, make sure to offer a no-quibble return policy. Because you are selling older games and testing them can be quite a tiresome task, it is recommended that you list them as "untested." You should also offer a money-back policy if the game is defective. However, keep in mind that, if you make such an offer, it only creates a doubt in the buyers' minds that the product might be faulty.

Purchase a disc repair machine: When purchasing a game that is on a CD, be sure to check for scratches. If there are too many scratches, check the CDs. Investing in a disc repair machine is a good idea as it will remove all the superficial scratches as well as the deep scratches. However, if it is on a cartridge and there is some damage, do mention it.

Media:

Selling media, such as books, software, DVDs, and CDs, among others, on eBay can be a tricky business. You should keep in mind the following:

Never Sell Media That You Have Burned Or Copied Yourself: Selling media that you have created yourself, whether it is copied from the Internet or off the airwaves, cannot be sold on this site. In fact, such an activity is illegal and can get you banned from eBay. eBay will first suspend you and later ask questions. Even if the media is yours, you will not be allowed to sell it on eBay.

Specify Media Compatibility: It is important that you mention the compatibility of a particular form of media that you are selling. For instance, if it is a book, specify its language and print size; if it is a CD, mention whether it is factory made from master or burned; if it is a DVD, specify the place from where you purchased it and its standard (VCD, DVD, SVCD, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, among others); if it is a vinyl record, mention its size and rotation speed; and if it is a magnetic tape or disk, specify if it is VHS, cassette, microcassette, or diskette.

Antiques And Vintage Items:

Selling used antiques and vintage items is another way of making an income on eBay. There are a number of advantages selling such items.

Interest Of Buyers: Buyers are aware that they can purchase new goods on certain websites. However, what they are especially looking for is unusual, antique, and rare items.

Rarity: Vintage or antiques are those items that are scarcely supplied as compared to other used items. So, those who have an interest for collecting antiques are sure to visit your shop.

Best Price: If something is not easily available, then you can very well demand a good price for it, sometimes even an amount that is out of proportion to its true, basic value. This can bring in huge profits for you.

Easy To Source: There are huge amounts of junk items that are in the world, and some of it can still be sold. If you live in the same town or city, it is easy to source these items.

Affordability Of Stock: If you go to purchase junk from those who want to clear their attics, garages, or basements, they are willing to sell it for a song. So, if you have a place to store it, you can get it dirt cheap.

Selling For A Third Party: If there are certain antiques that you yourself don't want to purchase but can sell on the owner's behalf, you are sure to get your cut, without having to stock the item.

Take Photos: It is a good idea to take quality photographs of your antique items. If you are a third-party seller, you can take pictures of those items, post advertisements of them on eBay, and take a commission for selling the item.

Profitability: Buyers who are interested in antiques and vintage items are willing to pay a huge amount. So, there are high chances of you making a profit from selling such items.

Low Turnover: Selling new items, like electronic products and apparel, is a high turnover business, which is dependent on the fluctuation in market prices as well as changing fashions. Antiques and vintage items do not depend on these factors. They can remain listed until they are bought.

Sporting Goods:

Selling used sporting goods is also a sure way of bringing in income. If you want to get rid of your old sports equipment, putting it up for auction on eBay is a good idea. There are loads of sporting goods that are sold on this site and for a good price. Some of the goods that go for sale are:

Baseball Equipment: Bats, gloves, jerseys, hitting machines, hats, batting helmets, and baseballs, among others are always in demand. Not just that, training aids, like speed sensors, batting cages, videos, and books, are also sold.

Basketball Equipment: Those who are interested in basketball search for the perfect basketball system to perfect their game. From various systems like in-ground pole, portable, and wall-mount, to different styles of basketballs, footwear, jerseys, and arm warmers, among other items are always in demand and can be sold on eBay.

Camping Gear: If you are planning a camping trip with your family or friends and don't want to spend too much on purchasing new camping gear, you can choose eBay to get the best deals. Used camping stoves, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, first aid, and water filtration kits are sold on this site.

Cycles:Cycles of all types can be sold on eBay, from mountain bikes, comfort bikes, kid bikes, and road racing bikes to BMX bikes, low-rider bikes, and vintage bikes, among others.

Fitness Equipment: From free-weight equipment, like barbells and dumbbells to manual and electric treadmills to trampolines and exercise bikes, all can be sold for a good price on eBay.

Golf Equipment: Buyers are usually searching for individual golf clubs or sets of 12, besides drivers, fairways woods, and clubs for left-handed players.

Other Sports Equipment:There are always buyers of sports equipment searching for the best deals online. From football, soccer, tennis, bowling, and fishing goods to racquetball, skateboarding, surfing, and hockey, among other popular sporting goods, you can sell these for a huge profit.

When selling sporting goods online, you need to ensure that you use the correct term to describe what you are selling. The terms that you should use are:

New In Box (NIB): Items that are in their original packaging from the time they have been purchased and have not been opened or used fall under this listing.

New With Tags (NWT) or New Without Tags (NWOT) or Never Been Worn (NBW): As the name describes, equipment and accessories that have never been worn or washed can come under NBW; those that still have the retail tags fall under NWT; and those that have the tags removed but have never been worn can be listed under NWOT. Those items that come under these listings should have no flaws.

Gently Used (GU): Those items that appear new and have no flaws in spite of having been washed, worn, or used fall under this listing.

Excellent: Those items that have been used but have no signs of flaws can be placed under this listing.

Very Good: The items that have been used, are faded in moderation, yet have no visible flaws can be considered as items in very good condition.

Good: Items that have previously been worn, are significantly faded, and have minor visible flaws are considered to be in good condition.

Fair: Products that have been previously worn, have significant flaws, and are faded considerably are considered to be in fair condition.

Poor: Items that are not in a condition to be worn or used with severe flaws, but may have certain desirable elements, can fall under this category.

Note that stains, spots, tears, holes, problems with buttons, zips, and snaps, and fabric irregularities are considered as flaws.

Hobby items:

Selling items of your hobby is another way of making an income online. Equipment for hobbies like gardening and fishing can be sold for a good price on eBay. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind when selling a hobby item online:

Know Your Hobby: When you're selling an item, you should ensure that you know everything about the hobby. This will help you to generate sales as you will be able to convince fellow enthusiasts to purchase your product.

Name The Hobby: With every opportunity you get, make sure that you name the hobby, whether it is in one-off listing titles, your member ID, or your eBay store name. This is essential for buyers when searching as well as for purposes of remembering your item.

Give Details: Hobbyists are experts in their areas of interest. So, you need to ensure that you give detailed descriptions of the items that you are selling. Information, like the make, features, model, and condition details, are important for an enthusiast of that particular hobby. What's more, if anyone famous endorses the product that you are selling, it would be an added advantage to mention it.

Take Photos: Taking photographs of the actual item from different angles is important as buyers want to know what they are purchasing. Hobbyists especially are looking for items of quality. If your picture depicts this, you are sure to make the sale.

Make It Your Business: If you can consistently supply quality used items of your hobby on eBay, you are sure to gain a market. Buyers will not search elsewhere for the items. So, in time, you will create a strong customer base.

Update "About Me" And eBay Blogs: If you are eager to make selling your hobby items your business, it is recommended that you constantly update the "About me" page as well as eBay blogs. This will slowly build a customer's trust in you. Buyers will be happy to have gained a supplier who shares the same interests.

Include Marketing Value-Adds: Getting free equipment related to your hobby is something hobbyists look forward to. This is also a way to create your customer base.

Apparel:

Clothing is one of the most-sold items on eBay. When selling your used clothing, you need to keep in mind the following:

Give Proper Descriptions: When it comes to clothing, ensure to mention the size, fabric, and brand, among other details. You need to be honest about the condition of the apparel that you are selling, so as to make sure that the customer you are selling to is not disappointed.

Pack Properly: Shipping of clothes is important. If you use a loosely-sealed, paper envelope for packaging, the item is sure to get damaged in transit. Sealing the item properly ensures that there is no contamination by the shipping environment.

Furniture:

Huge Shipping Costs: Selling used furniture is fine, but you need to keep in mind that furniture is big, and so the shipping costs will be greater. Remember, the bigger the furniture, the more the cost of shipping, and in turn, there are less chances of the furniture being sold. So, if the furniture is too large, it is better not to choose eBay as a place for selling it.

Give Details: One of the marketing techniques you can employ is giving details about:

Workmanship: Describe the materials that are used to make it. For instance, is it made of solid oak, teakwood, glass, stainless steel, iron, polyvinyl, or marble?

Size: Mentioning the height, width, and depth is important as the buyer would like to know if the piece of furniture he or she is about to purchase will fit in his or her accommodation.

Modification or flaws: It is always better to mention if you have made any modifications or if there are any flaws. This will ensure that you do not have an angry buyer.

Get Experts To Pack For Shipment: Owing to the size of the item, it is recommended that you hire help for shipment. Let the professionals take care of packaging the item as this will guarantee that the furniture is intact and there are no damages.

Vehicles:

Selling your vehicle on eBay can be easy if you employ marketing strategies, like giving detailed descriptions, and taking photographs of the vehicle from both inside and outside. However, there are certain other issues that you should consider.

Take Care Of Any Legal Loose Ends: If you are selling your motor vehicle, you need to make sure that you have a copy of the title and that it is free from all kinds of legal entanglements. If the vehicle you are selling is of an old model, ensure that it is in running condition and the registration and any other applicable fees and taxes are paid for in your state. This assures the buyers that the vehicle is in good operating condition.

Have A Sales Receipt Ready: Before selling online, it is recommended that you ask your local motor vehicles division for the basic requirements that allow you to sell your vehicle. You need to ask for necessary documentation, one copy which will be given to the buyer and the other which you will keep.

Contact And Test-Drive Information: Unlike other products sold on eBay, a vehicle needs to be test-driven. A buyer will surely not purchase a vehicle without physically inspecting it. So, be sure to mention the address at which the vehicle is stationed for inspection.

Shipping Complications: When purchasing a vehicle, the buyer has the option of either "pick up," "drive away," or have the seller ship it. You need to specifically mention what shipping options you are offering.

Advantages of Unilateral Training For Mountain Bikers

!±8± Advantages of Unilateral Training For Mountain Bikers

One of the best mountain bike training tips to improve your riding is to include a heavy dose of single limb training, also known as unilateral training. While bilateral training is better known and also important, there are several unique advantages that unilateral training offers that makes it a must to include in your program. Before getting into the 4 main advantages of unilateral training for mountain biking, though, let's clear up a common misconception.

Simply using dumbbells does not constitute unilateral training. Even though both limbs are moving independently, using both of them at the same time is still bilateral training. True unilateral training means that you are either doing one side at a time or at least alternating between the two sides. For example, a regular dumbbell bench press is still considered bilateral training while doing only one side at a time falls under the unilateral category.

Now on to the 4 indispensable advantages of unilateral training:

1) Increase pedaling power -- The first advantage of unilateral training is that it is more specific to the function of pedaling a mountain bike. Pedaling occurs one leg at a time with each leg working independently of each other. Since unilateral exercises also require each limb to act alone it only makes sense to include these exercises in your program.

They also ensure that there is not a strength imbalance between your legs. You may find that one leg is significantly stronger than the other, meaning that you are getting less horsepower out of the weaker leg. This makes your pedaling far less than optimal and something that can only be discovered and addressed through unilateral training.

2) Injury rehab and prevention -- Another advantage of unilateral training is that it helps to rehab and prevent injuries. After an injury it is extremely common to find that the injured side is weaker than the non-injured limb. When this happens it is impossible to restore that balance without using unilateral training. Even if you are not rehabbing an injury, making sure that you have balance between your limbs is also one of the best ways to decrease your future injury potential.

3) Recruit more muscles -- Without getting too technical into anatomy, when performing unilateral exercises you are forced to use stabilization muscles that are simply not recruited during bilateral training (and no, standing on a wobble board or balance ball does not do the same thing). As an example, unilateral leg exercises require that the adductors and abductors (the inner and outer thigh muscles) to fire in a synchronized manner in order to maintain balance.

In fact, this is the main reason that many people feel so unbalanced when starting unilateral leg exercises; they simply have not used those muscles in that way before and the body does not know how to efficiently accomplish the movement. Getting the body used to the demands placed on it by unilateral training will make for more fluid, athletic movement on the bike.

4) Build strength in a "spine friendly" manner -- Just like anything in life, overuse of something will start to cause problems and while the squat and deadlift are great, after a while they will start to put undo stress on the spinal column. Using a unilateral version of these lifts will not only give you all of the previously mentioned advantages, they will allow you to do so with literally less than half the stress on the spinal column. Over the years this will add up to far fewer back problems and injuries. This aspect will also breathe new life into the training program of those who have suffered a back injury since it allows them to train hard enough to elicit strength gains in a way that does not greatly increase their chance of re-injury.

Add all of these up and you must include unilateral exercises if you are serious about getting everything that you can out of your training program. Some of the best unilateral exercises are the unilateral dumbbell bench press, unilateral shoulder press, unilateral deadlift, Bulgarian split squat and the unilateral squat (or if you have the strength and mobility a full pistol squat)

One of the best ways to introduce unilateral training into your program is to replace one of your normal training days with a unilateral training day, performing nothing unilateral exercises on that day. Be forewarned, though, since unilateral training will produce some muscle soreness in places that you did not know you had and has also been known to increase performance to previously unattainable levels.

What Is Was Like to Be Stationed on a Submarine Tender in the United States Navy

!±8± What Is Was Like to Be Stationed on a Submarine Tender in the United States Navy

What is was like to have sea duty aboard a submarine tender.

The first thing I learned about being in the Navy, is that if your duty station is a ship, and it's moving across the ocean, sometimes it takes you, a long time, to catch up to it, to get on it. That was the deal with this ship, and the destroyer I was on also. It took me almost a month to catch up to the destroyer I was stationed on. It did not take me as long, to catch up to the ship. The ship was on its way to Subic Bay, in the Philippines. And I was going to meet it at the pier, when I got there finally.

After arriving in Manila, me and some other guys that were headed to the ship, stayed the night in Manila, for the first night. That was the first night I had spent in another country, ever, in my life. There were several of us, that flew into Manila that same day, and we needed to take a taxi about 2 hours south, to meet the ship.

We got a nice hotel room in Manila, it was overlooking the streets below, where all kinds of vendors, and jeep like taxis were everywhere, honking their horns non stop. We did not know what to do, so we stayed in the lounge of the hotel. That first night, we all drank right there in the lounge, and just stayed there. We had been traveling for awhile, and we were told not to go out and party, but we did party a little bit, but just in the hotel lounge.

The next morning, a white little van, with air conditioning, came and picked us all up. It drove us to the town where the ship was waiting. Along the way, you could see many different types of taxis, and tons of fields, that we all guessed, were rice fields.

The taxi drivers seemed to drive more crazy than in the United States. They swerved at stuff, hardly slowed down to let anyone cross the street, had tons of decorations glued all over the hoods, and it was all of them, that decorated their taxis heavily. They would honk their horns constantly, and sometimes if you are watching the driver, he is just honking the horn, to honk the horn. There were 3 wheeled motorcycle taxis that they called trikes, all over the place. They were the cheapest way to get around.

I consider myself to be a good motorcycle rider, since I grew up with dirt bikes and motorcycles all the time. One day, I asked one of the trike drivers, if I could drive his 3 wheeled taxi motorcycle. He said I would have a hard time, since I never did it before. I told him I rode motorcycles all my life, I can ride his thing. He bet me 50 pesos, which is about , that I could not ride it from one spot, to another. Boy, I drove it just a little bit, and I could not get it to turn around for me, so he was right, you have to practice riding on of those things, to figure it out.

I was the "fresh meat" guy, again, on the ship. This was finally going to be, the real Navy. A ship with over 1,300 people on it. Our office was almost at the very top of the ship. All the admin offices, legal, public affairs, recreation, the CO, XO, and Command Master Chief offices were connected together. The offices are connected together, so we can all use some of the same spaces. You had to do the standard duties anyone aboard a ship would have to do. Fire fighter training, drills, man overboard, abandon ship, nuclear spill, and other type of drills.

Everyone does special training, and you learn other things about the ship. One of my first duties besides being a yeoman, was you had to stand a watch, or serve on a flight crew, or salvage crew, or something like that. Even thou you are working in an office, at any moment, and even at 3:00 am, they might decide to do a drill, or the real thing.

One of my jobs as a seaman in the Navy, and working in the admin department, was during special sea procedures. We might be getting supplies from another ship, that is traveling threw the water, at say for example, 20 knots, and we are traveling threw the water, at the same speed also. We can transfer, fuel, supplies, food, mail, people, you name it.

They might use a helicopter to bring supplies over, from one ship to another, and during all this time, the Captain is up on the bridge, standing out on the wings, directing the ship at what speed it should be at, what course it should be on, and during all this time, he always has a young naval officer, at his side, since he is always training officers, at any given time.

The captain, who I must of saw train 50 different officers with the same thing, over and over again. Here we are, traveling at high speeds, two ships not more than 100 feet from each other. There will be a young ensign, or lieutenant junior grade, standing out on the bridge wings, trying to give the speed, and course, to the quartermaster and helmsman. Also, at the same time, he has the captain right behind him, putting a little pressure on him, telling him what to do, and asking him lots of test questions, and always testing them, and training them.

My job was to keep track of what speed and what course we were on at all times. The young officers would get confused, and could not remember what course, or what speed we were on. You usually just have to fine tune your course and speed, every so often, back and forth, just a little bit, but always back and forth, and the ships will be fine.

It looks really impressive, awesome, and powerful, to be out to sea, thousands of guys working, bright sunshine, crystal blue waters, and your cruising across the ocean, at pretty fast speeds, and you can see cargo, and other items being transferred from ship to ship, and you just think, wow, how cool looking is this.

One day, the captain was up on the bridge, and he was a pretty nice guy, he said, "Petty Officer Stead," even though I was still only a seaman at the time, he always like to call people by a bigger rank. He said, "You must of heard me say these things over, and over again, a thousand times by now, I bet you could drive this ship better than these officers."

I always knew when it was time to change course, I could of did what those officers were trying to learn, only because I was up there each time with the captain, when he was always training someone. It was never just the captain doing anything by himself, it was always either a drill, or an exercise, or a supply mission, he was always training junior officers, on everything he did.

One of my jobs was being the CO's phone talker during emergencies and drills. During battle scenarios, and other things we do, each department would have one person that was a phone talker, like the repair department, the medical department, the damage department, and all the other people connected.

The captain would bark out orders, and I would bark out orders to the other departments, it was kinda like I was barking out the orders, and it was kinda fun, because everyone took it so seriously, and from wherever the captain was at, there was always a good view.

On this ship, the captain had his own kitchen and cook. The cook was part of our department, as the Supply Department, and Executive Department, shared the same berthing space together. So we always shared our berthing with the cooks, and the supply guys.

The cook to the CO, was selected as sailor of the year, for the ship, and he was a good guy. His dream was to work at the white house, and he applied, but was rejected for the job. The captain had his own regular house size stove, refrigerator, and all the things one would have at home, in a kitchen. The cook, would ask the CO, what he would like to eat for each meal, and then make it for him. The skipper might reply, I want a light salad, steak, and whatever else he desired.

Everyone that is brand new to the ship, and is just starting out in the Navy, must perform 90 days duty, somewhere in the cooking section. Either as a cook, helper, cleaner, or whatever. My job ended up being in charge of about 3 frozen food lockers. Now on the ship, there must of been, at least 12 storage lockers, for milk, food, bread, hamburgers, you name it.

We had an elevator at each entrance, and at the top of the ship, we had our own crane. Before we would go out to sea, some semi tractor trailer trucks would come, and we would load the ship up with fresh food, and lots of it. On the ship, you usually get to have 4 meals a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and one at midnight again, called mid rats, for people that are still hungry, or people going on watch, or getting off watch. When you have 1,300 people it takes a lot of food.

Working in the food storage department for 90 days was fun, the guy in charge of us was pretty cool. We were always allowed to have the day off, as soon as you got your work done. That meant all of our work, so if someone was done, we would help the next guy get his work done, until all the things were done, and a lot of days, we were done working by noon, and we would be off for the rest of the day. Not too bad a job really.

Yamaha R1 Review

!±8± Yamaha R1 Review

We focus on jumps, turn the key and the instruments come to life. Short pressing the button to start the engine and the fire from a strange response - somewhere between an over-cammed small block and a fighter jet. It is a lumpy-sounding idle when the engine runs rough between our chest. The stand is still low, so that our colleagues at Yamaha, which is your confidence with his bike in an early-warning. "Spend time playing with him, just to bring it is not good?" heHe says.

He has reasonable grounds for concern. We plan to go with the Yamaha YZF-R1 2010, the activity of top-of-the-line sport bike. It has a 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine that brings 180 horsepower. Not much of a massively higher number in the world might consider a car but the engine just to move to 454 pounds of bike. This is only 2.5 pounds per horsepower. The Bugatti Veyron is locked at 4.2 kilograms per hp.

Even more shocking is how R1amazing total power can be had for just this kind of money. Even our limited unit that reproduces the Moto GP motorcycle racing ace Valentino Rossi is only $ 14.400-500, or prepared on the price of a modest entry-level car. For that amount you get a bike that has created practically every sports car production can now go to destroy a heads-up lights.

There is a downside, of course: namely, the ever-present specter of the fatality. But in an era in which realremoved dangerous and funny routines are watered down or commission, is a super-bike very similar to the little devil on my shoulder, you eat too bold.

Elbow and packaging

The focus of the 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1 is often a pronounced power plant, a cross-plane crankshaft, the bike more ancient foundation used to achieve this goal. It is not only, of course, much more balanced, also produces a unique exhaust babbling more like a rumbly V8 United Statesa high-strung four-cylinder.

Within the R1, which in turn compensates the pins of the crankshaft (the rotating arms that connect with the stems) at intervals of 90 degrees. Conventional four-cylinder engines with a flat plane crankshaft offset at 180 degrees. Yamaha to build cross-plane, the engine of an order of fire that may seem irregular lumpy, like a Harley, but actually provides a simpler distribution of rotation from idle to redline makes its 12 500 revolutions per minute.

Although theCross-plane crank does not automatically contribute to the R1 rider-friendly, so Yamaha uses numerous electronic engine administration methods, to ensure that it will not be as easy as it is powerful. Computer-controlled fuel throttle regulates the circulation 1000 times per second for precise control, such as regular consumption is different, the length of the horns to increase the airflow into the engine. There are three driver-adjustable settings can be adjusted on the fly - ascomfort / normal / sport settings in some high-end cars.

Fortunately, all this techno-magic you will not get in the cost or the weight of the presentation. The complete engine and gearbox is actually compressed in a fixed central mass, can be just a body that is as small as a sports bike average weight to be assembled. This means that R1 has all the power for a bike liter, but the geometry of the suspension of 600cc riding a rocket.

From the operation of the monsterEast side

No manager makes its way into our souls, while we sit at this year's Yamaha, YZF-R1. The seating position is probably built around the races, but it is not far from the dimension that you might think a day trip. The platforms are flexible, 15mm up or down, and all around 3mm. Ft for an average-sized male, five, ten inches, there is enough space to move back and forth in full tuck scoot the seat of a motorcycle almost normal verticalPoses.

How do we tap water in the R1-throttle, the engine exceeds a certain impact and unequal. Investing extra power transforms the V-twin thunder like a drum roll that starts now, screaming like a crazy bot. The first course is actually very high, but the amount of torque to handle just to make the bike difficult past 90 mph without moving you are dragging. Go directly to the second and much more energy is available, such as the incoming air is forcedthe window on a motorcycle air launch angry-looking face.

At these speeds, just hang it difficult. Tucking in the back of the windscreen is a necessity. All holes in the back end and around its branches, merge in any case, the motorcycle, causing a portion of the wing to form. With the speedometer in front of our face, it is shocking to find out exactly how effortlessly the R1 increases the speed. AreYamaha YZF-R1 informed this year, the entire quarter-mile in about 10 seconds to churn out more than 140 mph. Which is faster than anything we have analyzed. Go ahead and get closer to the true top speed of 180 miles per hour north of.

Better focus

Like almost all heavy road bikes, calling this year's Yamaha YZF-R1 for all of our attention, all the time. The process of showing any kind of motorcycle in a curve associatedSpeed requires significantly more effort of the elbow to the wheel of supercars typical, and the R1 is no exception.

Travelling in a corner, we move to the outer edge and select the entry point. Then take the R1 is off the accelerator and also take a little 'uncertain, the front brake, as we have our heads pop up above the windshield. We climbed with the dance choreography of the left foot and left hand, while our right to continue to take hand brakeLever.

With your fingertips the pegs, move our butts off the chair, our internal wedge heel in motion, dissolve our arms and started to lead the motorcycle with his face towards the climax. When used outside of the leg R1 is based around adherent and bruise the inside leg is completely covered, pull the wheel down in the direction of the cloud of the pavement under our knees. Ease off the brake system, I find it very gently on top.

On top, thereis somewhere in between, so we move from brake pedal to come. A twist slowly in the gas and the sound of the engine faster. This year, Yamaha YZF-R1 incorporates, however, bring us all to keep our body to the ground. If we want to bring more gas, the bike followed by the turn outward again. We're back behind the windscreen, as our instructions hidden in the arm, more power. A deep breath, set a different turn and do it again.

Done well, press R1And in a way that was definitely not a super sports car - even if it seems faster to reach the corner of a motorcycle. Get this misstep, however, and the R1 will be quickly put in a tremendous amount of damage.

However, I remain, for once

Knifing in turns is an absolute joy on R1, at the same time instilling quality assurance, and asking to go faster. But this particular bike, it's also incredibly sent more pleasant journey. Thefully adjustable suspension can be adjusted to cut a series of pilots and their decisions. The factory setting also demonstrates moderate our furrows Canyon roads stressed, however, has improved significantly softening the damper in the manner of real-world road. Adjustments are easily accomplished with a few simple tools, and the same exercise provides very accurate understanding of how to train to work and influence stroke rebound and preloadQuality.

When the 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1 is actually suitable for your morning travel depends on your body, to take away your house and before fatigue. In slow traffic (through the slower, we less than 60 miles per hour), heat from the engine after frying and after the knee. The seat cushion is very thin and fairly flat, so if you travel a longer distance to get rich dish of bumper cars bumper highway, requires something better just a little 'lessmore deadly than the R1.

This is a bike for Saturday and Sunday, the players and the way drug addicts. Requires basic equation superbike and adds a little 'of individuality in the way it seems, feels and reacts to driver inputs. They are faster, more bicycles around, as the last item liter BMW motorcycle to find the S 1000 RR, but the R1 and the convenience, efficiency, together with a pinch of unique technology in an exciting package, which has the its charm. Listento cry out with a full, and you'll know exactly what we're talking about.

4 Great Exercises that help with a coach is tightening motorcycle ABS

!±8± 4 Great Exercises that help with a coach is tightening motorcycle ABS

If you're getting tight abs and sexy, then a training exercise with a trainer indoor bike or bicycle exercise is to be the best choice. Both can be excellent exercise in the performance of an activity, so you have three main advantages. On the one hand, this may provide a good aerobic workout, while the second advantage, losing weight and gaining a healthy and beautiful abs, especially if coupled with a healthy diet. In this way, a bit of practice with an inside-Bike Coach, will surely stimulate the heart to the right, so you can be an ideal degree of heartbeats per minute.

Strengthen the heart and the respiratory tract is the main objective of this aerobic exercises. This can lead to a lower heart rate at rest, it means that your heart is pumping blood efficiently - one reason why the majority of aerobic enthusiasts prefer rear edge of the inland mountain-exercise.

On the other hand, reducing the size of life andTightening the abdominals is always coupled with a high-intensity interval training. This burns the highest amount of calories and start the metabolism.

One of the four major exercises with a trainer indoor cycle is a bicycle abs workout. This strength of the abdominal muscles and burn more fat. The exercise bike is very easy to get abs in only an exercise bike and bend the knees and hips, bring it to lift the left shoulder blade. Then slowly lower your right leg andleft elbow in a comfortable position and repeat the process with the left leg and right elbow at the same time. As the name implies, simulates the movement of leg cycling exercise abs, make you feel like you are getting the final mountain.

A trainer indoor bike is a perfect way to rationalize the excess body fat and a good way to reduce the abdominal muscles. AND 'cheaper than real motorcycles, you can perform an exercise bike while watching your favorite TV show orwatching the news. However, you need specific goals while cycling to work this training exercise. But this does not mean that you must focus on a specific target, but they can mix different styles of driving to look at every workout. Should always be for training from 20 to 90 minutes a day. This type of exercise pool is really great, because they do not regularly hit the streets needed, especially in winter.

The next exercise is the way of cycling exercise. TheMain component of this training is creativity. Note that you accustom your body to build muscle you will be and how to develop a good driver, if you're in training the large track. However, this is not ideal in winter, so an indoor bike trainer is always ready to offer this type of training should have.
